Solidarity Week

In Maristes Lleida every year we organise several events. We start with a music festival, where some students prepare songs, and the ticket is used to raise money for charity.

During the week there are some other events but the best is the "Hunger Lunch".

This day every student of the school pays a symbolic price to eat a frankfurt or cheese sandwich.

The older students organise a treasure hunt and when the children finish eating they play and get fun. They paint a mural in the wall and sometimes we do water wars.

The raised money is given to a NGO which builds schools in poor countries.

Valentine's day

It is the day of lovers.It's a especial day because the lovers prove their love with presents,for exemple:a hearth of chocolate a teddy bear,flowers to girls...etc.

This day is celebrates on the 14th of February,in the honor of cupido,the god of lovewho is represented,by an angel with a bow and an arrow in the shape of a heart.This bow,gives love.

Nonaday people who love someone, or who have a boy/girlfriend , celebrate this day.

In our opinion , this day is a great day for people for people that believe in love. Happy day for the lovers!

But we wish for next year to have more couples than this year.

In united States of America san Valentine's tradition , couples go to a lake to have a picnic and stay with the person they love, they see the finish of the day.

Carnival

This year, the carnival day has been the 13th of February. This day all the people worldwide dress up with beautiful costumes and go out to the street to see the parade.
There are places where carnival is more famous than here, where they organise huge festivals with a King, queen of the carnival.
Here in Lleida, as it's a small city, the carnival is not famous, but all the people in the city celebrate it.
At 6 o'clock, the parade starts in the " Camps Elisis" and goes through the streets, doing three laps and at the same time, a lot of people are watching it, singing with its music. They always finish covered with confetti.
In our opinion it was a fantastic day and we are looking forward to see the next parade.

ECONOMIC CRISIS

Crisis started in 2007. An economical crisis is a fall of the economical capital of a cuontry. Nowadays this economical crisis, is in all the world.

This crisis started in the construccion sector, and it started expanding in all the others sectors. The crisis afects to all the families in the world and there is a lot of desemployed people, because companies can't pay all the employees and they have to pay a lot of people. All the countries are working together to go out of this crisis.In conclusion, is an indefinite crisis and we don't know when is going to finish.

carnival

Carnival is a tradition that came for many years ago. People dress up and go out the street to have fun. On 13th of February is the carnival in all the cities of the world.

Last weekend in our city, its name's Lleida, this tradition bacame the protagonist.

At six o' clock the celebration starts in Cappont's street. We were dressed up nun, gangster and hippie.

So many people participated this year in Carnival. At night many public locals were full of people,there were more young people than old people. In our school youngest celebrated it in the afternoon in a little festival. Pupils of 5th and 6th Primary School did a music festival in the theater school.

FOOTBALL

Football was created by the Aztech after the Egyptians played and when Romans conquered Egypht created a new version of this sport, the name was "pilotta", the pilotta played in all of the roman countries, finally when Roma was conquered, the only place that football was played was in Britain, later, in 1898 Cambridge created the first global rules of football and it was created FIFA that is an organization of football in the world.
The first team of Spain is the Recreativo de Huelva and after it was created R.Madrid, Barça, Bilbao and more.
Last year the best team of the world was F.C Barcelona which won six titles and Madrid didn't win anything. And the best of Barça, is Messi, the best player of the world too.

Drugs

Drug effects:
Now, we want to talk about one boy, whose story is very sad.
He was only sixteen years old when he died, his life was very sad, he had a twin, and this twin was spoiled by the family, he was always true and, his brother, the boy who were talking about, was very angry.
And, choose the easiest solution, he commited suicide, he wrote a letter for his family, after that he took drugs, one of the most important drugs, because it's effects are very bad, he took LSD, and this drug produces alucinations, and after that he went quickly to the window and he throw himself by the window, an then, he died.
This was a very sad history, but was really true.
