Summer Holidays

Summer holidays are the best in opinion of young children. They are used to go out of the city. Maybe in the beach or the mountain. There are also a lot of activities planned for the children, like summer camps.
For the families there are a lot of turist offers, cruisers, travels to other continents, places to relax yourself... We prefer going to the beach, because there you can swim and practice water sports in the sea, also you can sunbathe.
In one week we are going to be in summer holidays because school will be finished and we will go to a lot of summer camps.

English classes in maristes

In Maristes school in 3th ESO we do three hours a week of english classes.
In this classes we work with a workbook, in it there are nine units and in every unit our teacher gives us a dossier with some vocabulary and grammar activities. That dossier also has some readings and listenings.
One hour every week we go to another classroom where we do different activities. There activities are organised in corners. There are eight different corners: TV, audio-reading, reading, music, internet, games, computer, speaking and magazine.
When we finish a unit we do an exam it has different parts, the most important parts are grammar and vocabulary and other parts like readings, listenings...
At least every term we do a termtest about all that we have studied each term.

Barça wins the league

Last sunday at 7 o'clock in the Camp Nou was played the most important match of the year, Barça was played versus Valladolid and if Barça wins the match Barça will be the Champions of BBVA league.

Madrid is the second and if Barça drawed or lost the match and he won he will be the Champion. This was imposible, because Barça only lose two points in Camp Nou.

Finally this sunday Barça won the league, he had 99 points and it's the best score of the history. Barça only lose one match versus Atletic de Madrid. Barça won versus Valladolid 4-0 winth one goal of Prieto P.P, one of Pedro and two of Messi, with these two goals Messi won the "bota d'or".
This league is the 20th and it is the most competed league of the world.

Now Barça wants to buy Villa and Cesc Fabregas. In this league Florentino and Madrid loses more than 260 millions of euros.

After the horrible match of Inter-Barça in Milan. Today there is the second match and the players of F.C.Barcelona will wait the turn and we believe in.
J. Mourinho is the coach of Inter and the line up is 5-4-1.
In the match of Milan the referee he went to Milan and he didcn't be fair.
The players that play are:
Victor Valdes, Gerard Piqué, Dani Alves, Gabi Milito, Xavi, Touré, Ibraimovic, Busquets, Pedro, Bojan Krick and the best player of world Messi.
And the players of Milan are: Julio César, Maicon, Lucio, Samuel, Barotelli, Cabmiaco and Sneider.
The experts of football say this match is the best of the world.
We hope that the referee will be fair, because we lose 1-3 and we need two goals to win.

An imposible love

Once upon a time, in a casttle situated in the country of united kingdom, there was a prince, his name was Robert.

One day the queen Isabel, Robert's mother, contrated a sirvent, her name was Carol.

This sirvent was very pretty, she was very tall, and she had a long and blonde hair, when Robert saw Carol, he falls in love.

Carol fell in love with Robert, too. During the nights, they saw each other, because the queen Isabel, didn't accept the relationship of the two guys. There were lovers.

One day the security of the palace saw them kissing, and he went to the queens room to say the news. The queen Isabel was very angry, and went very fast to arrest Carol.

Finally Robert did never accept the Carol's arrest and they went to Spain.

Marilyn Monroe

Her real name was Marilyn Norma Jean Monroe, she was a sexy girl, her profession was actress and singer. One of the best of her films was "Gentleman prefer blondes" and her best song was "Happy Birthday" dedicated to Mr. Kennedy, the president of USA.

She was born in Los Angles in 1921; she was one of the women that her sizes were 90-60-90. She wanted to be wonderful, and she didn't want be older, this is why some voices say that Marilyn Monroe killed herself. Anyway, she's still one of the most beautiful women in this world.

One more week

Now, Ruben and Maria are going to talk about the week that politics have decided to start the 7th of September, one week before that we started last year.
And that is going to traspass to February and we are going to have holidays because politics say that now students have to have holidays in a row.
We don't agree because here in Spain the temperatures aren't the same as in France, if students do holidays this week in February their parents too, but this not the same, because parents work this week and then, where are they going to put their sons and daughters if they work?...

Solidarity Week

In Maristes Lleida every year we organise several events. We start with a music festival, where some students prepare songs, and the ticket is used to raise money for charity.

During the week there are some other events but the best is the "Hunger Lunch".

This day every student of the school pays a symbolic price to eat a frankfurt or cheese sandwich.

The older students organise a treasure hunt and when the children finish eating they play and get fun. They paint a mural in the wall and sometimes we do water wars.

The raised money is given to a NGO which builds schools in poor countries.

Valentine's day

It is the day of lovers.It's a especial day because the lovers prove their love with presents,for exemple:a hearth of chocolate a teddy bear,flowers to girls...etc.

This day is celebrates on the 14th of February,in the honor of cupido,the god of lovewho is represented,by an angel with a bow and an arrow in the shape of a heart.This bow,gives love.

Nonaday people who love someone, or who have a boy/girlfriend , celebrate this day.

In our opinion , this day is a great day for people for people that believe in love. Happy day for the lovers!

But we wish for next year to have more couples than this year.

In united States of America san Valentine's tradition , couples go to a lake to have a picnic and stay with the person they love, they see the finish of the day.

Carnival

This year, the carnival day has been the 13th of February. This day all the people worldwide dress up with beautiful costumes and go out to the street to see the parade.
There are places where carnival is more famous than here, where they organise huge festivals with a King, queen of the carnival.
Here in Lleida, as it's a small city, the carnival is not famous, but all the people in the city celebrate it.
At 6 o'clock, the parade starts in the " Camps Elisis" and goes through the streets, doing three laps and at the same time, a lot of people are watching it, singing with its music. They always finish covered with confetti.
In our opinion it was a fantastic day and we are looking forward to see the next parade.

ECONOMIC CRISIS

Crisis started in 2007. An economical crisis is a fall of the economical capital of a cuontry. Nowadays this economical crisis, is in all the world.

This crisis started in the construccion sector, and it started expanding in all the others sectors. The crisis afects to all the families in the world and there is a lot of desemployed people, because companies can't pay all the employees and they have to pay a lot of people. All the countries are working together to go out of this crisis.In conclusion, is an indefinite crisis and we don't know when is going to finish.

carnival

Carnival is a tradition that came for many years ago. People dress up and go out the street to have fun. On 13th of February is the carnival in all the cities of the world.

Last weekend in our city, its name's Lleida, this tradition bacame the protagonist.

At six o' clock the celebration starts in Cappont's street. We were dressed up nun, gangster and hippie.

So many people participated this year in Carnival. At night many public locals were full of people,there were more young people than old people. In our school youngest celebrated it in the afternoon in a little festival. Pupils of 5th and 6th Primary School did a music festival in the theater school.

FOOTBALL

Football was created by the Aztech after the Egyptians played and when Romans conquered Egypht created a new version of this sport, the name was "pilotta", the pilotta played in all of the roman countries, finally when Roma was conquered, the only place that football was played was in Britain, later, in 1898 Cambridge created the first global rules of football and it was created FIFA that is an organization of football in the world.
The first team of Spain is the Recreativo de Huelva and after it was created R.Madrid, Barça, Bilbao and more.
Last year the best team of the world was F.C Barcelona which won six titles and Madrid didn't win anything. And the best of Barça, is Messi, the best player of the world too.

Drugs

Drug effects:
Now, we want to talk about one boy, whose story is very sad.
He was only sixteen years old when he died, his life was very sad, he had a twin, and this twin was spoiled by the family, he was always true and, his brother, the boy who were talking about, was very angry.
And, choose the easiest solution, he commited suicide, he wrote a letter for his family, after that he took drugs, one of the most important drugs, because it's effects are very bad, he took LSD, and this drug produces alucinations, and after that he went quickly to the window and he throw himself by the window, an then, he died.
This was a very sad history, but was really true.

Basketball

Basket is a kind of sport. In this sport you need a ball and a basket. It must have five players for team and they have to wear trainers, shorts and a T-shirt.

If you want to make a point you have to put the ball into the basket with the hands. There are three types of points: free shot(1 point), normal shot( 2 point) and triple( 3 points).

There are differents players:

-Base: Is the most important player and controls the situation in the game.

-Pivot:Is the highest player in the team and normally he makes the point.

-Scolt:Helps the base to control the situation.

-Ala-pivot:Helps the pivot to the rebounds.

-Winger:This player gives the ball to the pivot and he plays in a side of the basketball court.

Our Christmas Holidays

yThis Christmas holidays, we went to a party, the day of Christmas, 25th of December.
On Christmas holidays we had lunch with our family.
The 26th we went to Baqueira-Beret to skii.
The 27th we went to the cinema and later we went to the McDonald's.
The New Year's Eve, we went also to a party and we arrived home at 06:30a.m.
We slept until 20:00p.m. of the night.
It was very funny, and the best New Year's Eve of my live.
The 8th of the January we started the classes again.

BASKETBALL

Basketball was created by James Naismith.

Basketball is a sport that is played with two teams and each team there are more or less twelve basketball players. Basketball consist on putting the ball into a basket. The team which has more points in a match wins.

Around the world there are a lot of leagues and a lot of teams. Here, in Spain, there is A.C.B (Association Clubs Basket). In this league there are some important teams of the world, for example: F.C.Barcelona, Real Madrid, D.K.V Joventut, and more...

Out of Spain there are more leagues and in America, in U.S.A, there is the most important league, N.B.A (National Basket Association).

Some of the most important players of the history were playing in the N.B.A: Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, and more...

Today, there are some important players too and they play in L.A.Lakers, Boston Celtics,...

We think that basketball is a very good sport.

ZARA

Zara is one of the most fashion shops in Lleida. It's located in the Major Street next the Woman Secret's. Armancio Ortega is the creator of this fashion shop. At firts he had a small shop but he wasn't famous. Now a day, he became more famous because he had increased on his shop, opening nwe shops around the world. Armancio Ortega apart from having Zara shop, has got other shops like: Bershka, Stradivarious, Pull and Bear, Pimkie, Mango, H&M, Oysho...

More or less he has around more than 500 shops in Spain and more than 5.000 around the world. Moreover he is a very intelligent man because he has to think a lot to increase the job and to be famous like this.
